Introducing Alistair

We are delighted to welcome Alistair Donaldson as part of the team at Hope Funerals Christchurch.

Alistair holds a Master of Theology degree and has lectured at Laidlaw College for the past 22 years. Prior to this he worked with Youth With A Mission in Hong Kong, Hawaii and here in New Zealand and has been a business owner himself. He is married to Jo and has two adult children along with an increasing number of grandchildren.
“One aspect of Hope Funerals that resonates with me is the way it is structured as a social enterprise; this means that a good portion of profits are given back to support community charitable work,” says Alistair. “This focus is a very new concept for a funeral company; however, it does seem appropriate for us to invest in the local community to benefit the people of Christchurch, and in some small way, the overall well-being of our city.”

As Alistair is well known in Church circles, he has been asked to visit Church groups and aims to take some of the mystery out of funerals, to answer people's questions about what they can expect when their families experience a bereavement, and the variety of ways to celebrate and say goodbye in a way that is appropriate for their loved one.
